Town Farm Barn
Here's one of the illustrations that I did when I was on the farm. There are about 9 more spot illustrations like this one that I'll put into a later blog post. I feel like I learned quite a bit about drawing structural items, as in buildings, and inanimate objects in general when I was doing these illustrations. Usually things that have mechanical structure seem to be a little hard to grasp. I think we generally try to draw them "architecturally perfect" which in my opinion can suck the life right out of the drawing and out of the object being drawn. I feel that I was successful in allowing not only the drawing to have life but the structure as well. It's kind of like a caricature but without the gross exaggeration that you would normally associate with it. I feel like the drawing and the object have both been allowed to breath. More of these illustrations coming soon…..
